Wet Dream

Some hazey news just in... Seems like we have landed ourselves a new Sideburn project bike. A Honda FT500. (The Cagiva Elephant that we got excited for about 20 minutes didn't transpire). OK so the knee-jerk reaction of any sane being to this bike is "Ug Fugly! That sure fell out of the ugly tree hitting every branch on the way down." Inbred little brother of the Proboscidea even? But wait, don't be so cruel, despite/ becase of, the square instrument console and integrated body unit, we think it's kinda cool. What's more the Whizzwheel mags are 19" Woo Haa! Death Spray Custom are going to do us a special paint job too - but they don't know about that yet. BP

  7. great starting point! the nice part about the project will be that a lot of the ugly stuff is fluff, like the bodywork and that sadly located rectilinear headlamp!

word is that the starter motor goes out on these things...my guess is you'll be removing that part anyway...so push-start? that would be the BOLD way to go!

    Right on, looking forward...

those are all very cool bikes. We could bin most of this vehicle, chuck a lot of money at it with a whole new body, and titanium go-faster fitings, creating one hot (dwarf) biatch - we're all ears for XL tune-up info.
But, as I said already, I think it's fuglyness is it's charm. It's not a AJS or an XR750, or a Super Mono, it's a measly F(ar)T but a proud one!
