Lambrettas have a special little place in our heart. It is cruel for fully grown men to race them, but when we were younger and lighter, we did. BPphoto Tim Simpsonphoto Josie Sykes
Both you AND Gary used to race Lambrettas? Well I never. Coincidentally, I've just this minute been considering how great it would be to own a Bastert (though not a racing scoot by any means).
If truth be told, this was not my dear Lammy, but my girlfriends. Here I had just blown up my Guzzi & we were riding the little bastard two-up back to Amsterdam.
Without all the extra ballast, the TV175 was quick for an antique. It was especially fun street racing modern scooters that presume you are just street furniture, until they get intoxicated in blue smoke.
GI: That looks like the ultra-bleak Three Sisters, am I right? And you look as if you have old knicker elastic for neck muscles. I like to think you're whistling a pleasant Northern Soul ditty.

I don't look like I'm racing either. Get in a racing crouch you whelp! What have you got a glass spine? Thanks for bringing this up Ben. GI

ReplyDeleteI just tried one with 30+ RWHP and it was much faster than a few of the motorbikes I have tried. I'd gladly race one any day :)
