The founding father of UK Short Track, Peter Boast is leading a group of 3 teen riders on a racing tour of the Mid-West. Tomorrow, Tim Neave, Ben Baker and Tom Woolley will fly to Missouri then, take it away Boastie...
'We go testing with Travis Smith (of the Suzuki flat track team) at the banked, clay stock car track just outside Jefferson. Friday we hire a U-Haul truck and travel to race at Corby, Kansas, a3/8 mile cushion track evening meeting. Next day travel to Norton, Kansas for a 1/2 mile Cushion track - another eveing meeting. Sunday day off,going to barbie for all flattrack riders and should be hooking up with Chris (Carr).Monday & Tuesday racing at Stockton 1/2-mile Kansas more Clay track, then 3 days off, back to Jefferson City going to watch some sprint car races, next meet Sat Galsburg Short track (IL) then spectating at the famous Peoria TT on Sunday which should be awsome,fly back Tuesday.'
These lads are great. Ben and Tom were on the podium at last weekend's brilliant Rhyl half-mile meet, and Tim Neave won a heat. If you're at any of these race make sure you go find Team GB and say hello. G
