Sideburn #9 has just been sent off to the printers so I thought I'd treat myself to a day off and some fresh air. I forgot how good it tastes. Took the boy and my new toy; an OM Flyer (26" wheels), to the excellent new downhill BMX track at
Stockwood, Bristol. I only sustained one injury. It was worth it. BP
NB I am an old man so I am allowed brakes.
sweet ride ben!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe SE Racing are still going, they did the amazing P.K.Ripper of my childhood dreams, nearly 30 years ago.
ReplyDeleteNice one Ben, glad you like it. We'll have to go sometime in the next week or so if we get time. Was fun the other week. Get them manuals on!
ReplyDeleteRAD-I-CAL-MON!!!!
ReplyDeleteHunt down the dvd documentary JOE KID ON A STINGRAY. It's the history of BMX and Scott 'old man' Breithaupt features heavily in it.

ReplyDeleteThose "bullet-holes" brought back fun at the river on bicycles. In the "pre-65" river-bicycling I participated in,here in Sacramento, I was too big for a Schwinn Stingray...so had to make do with a stripped down Sears three-speed. Missed out on all that neat moto-bicycle stuff. We were shot at, one time, by a crazy kid with a 22 rifle. He thought it was funny to keep us pinned down from across the American River...ah, memories.
