Can Your Pussy Do the Dog?

I've been playing The Cramps regularly lately. My five-year-old likes them. When I used to buy records every week I'd keep the receipt and put it in the plastic sleeve. Nerdy, I know. I also used to put relevant gig tickets in with LPs. I noticed that  the current Mrs Inman and I went to see The Cramps play in Leeds 21 years ago this week (I think they were touring The Creature from The Black Leather Lagoon Stay Sick LP, a bit past their peak and in a venue that didn't suit them, but still glad I saw them). Tempus fugit... G
According to an online inflation calculator, £8 in 1991 is the equivalent of £14.32 now.

  1. Cool! The 'Drug Train' line up was the best, I think.

  2. No such thing as a bad cramps track or line up. Loved the fact they never went cabaret. The last abum fiends of dope island had some of their best stuff on it. And ivy is still butchers dog material.

  6. I used to do that with tickets from gigs. As i'm a good bit older than you a typical ticket tucked into my old LP sleeve is: David Bowie @ Kingston Polytechnic April 1972 (40p). Happy days!!!

  7. Tempus may indeed fugit, but aeroplanes crash. More cool '90s music. Just been uploading stuff before my next trip to the arse end of nowhere.

Oh, and the white 'Sideburn' sticker was just the job for the black front mudguard of my sand racer - Ta! It is just going to need a bit of CFM love to be ready for 16 Dec.

  8. Good to see so many coming out in support of the cause, well, including the several Rusty personalities, RIP Interior.

  9. Nice trip down memory lane Gary. I remember watching this live on the Tube. I copied the classic cover of Bad Music for Bad People and painted it onto my army surplus school satchel!

By coincidence I was watching the Cramps on YouTube last week and reminiscing, as I'd heard that a guy from a local band I used to watch in the mid 80s just played the Letterman show with his new album. Jim Jones: http://youtu.be/RfOO9dvqzYU

  11. Austin, Sorry to say I don't have the receipt for the record, but I bet it was £6 brand new. Maybe £7.

MW, we've featured Jim Jones on the blog in the past. I saw them. They're alright, but they're no Bunker Hill.

Imagine an unsuspecting TV viewer clicking on The Tube at 6.50pm and getting a faceful of Lux Interior at teatime. Holy shit. You don't get entertainment on the main channels like that any more. Jools Holland, my arse! G

  13. I was actually a member of the 'Legion Of The Cramped' fan club thing in early eighties and still have the magazines! Finally got to see them at the shows that became the 'Rockinandreelininaucklandnewzealand' album and it was as good as I could have hoped for. Nick Knox on drums and the very mesmerizing Candy Del Mar on bass, all the classics, Lux finishing each night in his gold y-fronts. Absolutely rock and roll.
