I'd really like to investigate that kill switch in detail...

It's a pretty common piece used on HIll Climbers, Speedway and ATV's. The laynard goes around your wrist and is attached to the kill box on the handle bars. If you fall off it stops the motor. I believe you can still get the vintage ones from the West Coast Speedway suppliers like Cody and such.

I think Dr-Ogo may have been interested in investigating the immediate vicinity of the kill switch, as well as the kill switch itself of course!
