Original rockers

Another juicy melding of '60s beat with a period film by YouTube's fardonbeat66. This time, Dutch jangle-popsters The Dukes play 'Try To Understand' from 1965 over an excerpt from the 1964 Italian-made documentary I Malamondo. Looks like the footage was shot in London's dreary suburbs - enough to make any young bloke ride lidless on a home-brewed death-trap. Interesting mix of bikes. MP

Great film. Reminds of when (as a child) i lived opposite the Sans Souci Coffee Bar in the suburbs of London (a popular haunt for the young motorcycle set!) in the early 1960s. I'm sure hearing all those Gold Stars, Dominators and Bonnevilles as i lay in bed at night made sure that i was forever going to be hooked on two wheels...............and so it was.
