Guido and Sue - Sue's Slack

Sue has taken the opportunity to get Guido on his own, clearly with a view to seduction, but as ever, Guido is blind to it all. I mean, who could fail to see the symbolism in Sue's firm grip and lever frottage, explicit references to free play and excess slack and her feigned inability to control the situation. Come on Guido! Check her nipples, get some lube down there and twiddle that adjuster.
As culled from 'Motorcycles. Maintain Your Own Machine' (1977) by top journalists Guido Bettiol and Vic Willoughby, with artwork by George Domenech. MP

Co-Built #6 on EXIF

Co-Built was asked by EXIF for an exclusive report on the now complete #6 bike - Drogo's Rotax, that has had step-by-step build up-dates here on the Sideblog. As Drogo was tied up working, word was sent out locally that a body-double was needed. BP

Tips from the land of Mule

If you're building lots of custom battery boxes, why not have wooden batteries to build them around? Good thinking from Mule Motorcycles. G

Relight Light My Fiah

These electronic gubbins from Boyer Bransden are hopefully going to bring my XS back to life. The kit includes a Zener diode capacitor (the blue thingy) so I can junk my dead battery - that saves 5kg. Another pace forward in it's health and diet regime. BP

Burn baby burn

Fresh from Swedish imprint Heptown Records is the debut album by funereally-monikered The Cremators. Psychobilly? Punkabilly? Hard rockabilly? Oh blimey, I dunno, but The New Breed is along those Guana Batz/Meteors lines. I'm a sucker for most things with an upright bass and there's slap-plunk aplenty. At times it sounds like, well, imagine the bastard love children of Lemmy and Wanda Jackson, violating their parole to get out and make music. And the gravel-gargling lead singer is called Lucas Arson, which I thought was a term used in insurance circles for dodgy claims blaming the unintentionally incendiary products of those now defunct automotive electrical jokers in Brum. Cafe Racer Street

Another great special issue from Bertrand and his Cafe Racer team in Paris. This one includes loads of reports by Dimitri Coste, including one on Mule that I wrote.
The French Cafe Racer is the original cafe racer magazine, it's been going (though with different owners) since the early 1990s and kicks the arse of the American one - it's just a struggle from non-French (or some Canadians) to read.
Bertrand is the editor and owner - that is something special for a bi-monthly newsstand magazine. He is a real inspiration, great to deal and a gentleman.
If you're not in France The Magazine Man stocks Cafe Racer and its specials, and has this in stock.
Cafe Racer are also involved with this event in Dieppe (below). GI

Hooligan Derby, Ventura, Ca

From Iron & Resin. This looks fun, a similar vibe to Dirt Quake...

On the line, just trying to keep the bike you've resurrected from dying before the flag waves. You are surrounded by good friends and strangers, all looking to get a little sideways a fraction of a second ahead of you. The guy next to you is on a 650
British twin, you are on a lighter 250 2 stroke..."run what you brung" at its finest.

We are happy to announce the first annual Iron and Resin Hooligan Derby, taking place in our home of Ventura, CA. Ventura Raceway, an oval track affectionately known as "the best little dirt track in America" is a perfect setting for some dirt slinging amongst like minded friends. Open to all comers, our hope is that this will encourage a new breed of rider/racer to come out and share in the festivities.

Pre mix, 4-stroke, Japanese, American, Brit... if you can kick it, you can race it.

The first day of races is Saturday, April 14. Head over to Ventura Raceway's website to enter for $45 bucks. All racers get a limited I&R tee, and after the race we will be nursing our wounds and our egos with drinks at The Tavern, just on outhe other side of the tracks.

See you all there, on the line, hoping for a little bit of glory!
