Ben Killer Miller
The middle of nowhere
Circuit office. Breathe deep and smell the glamour
Neat
This track is Britain's highest speedway track, up in the Derbyshire peaks. You can see for miles. And see the rain coming in. I jumped in with Ben Miller, in an Iveco van that was about the size of a two-bedroom flat in London. I got some good results in the Thunderbike heats - thirds and fourths - then saved my worst start for the final. Still, I had fun, managed to come into corners harder and looser than ever before and didn't crash. It rained again, but - because I'm racing two classes - I'd had enough by then.
Some bikes turned up I'd never seen before. Here are some shots.
