Inspiration?

Dan Walsh thinks Guzzi's new V7 Clubman Racer might have been inspired by Ben's Guzzi. What do you reckon? GI

As if I'd argue with Dan!

Was the first thing I thought as well when I saw the pics over at HfLeather.

Headerwrap on a "factory custom"? I'm not liking this, or the Harley Dark bikes.

Don't try to replicate the Zagato, it didn't even work for Ewan.

The red frame and bare metal tank is a pretty common look for a race-inspired Guzzi. I love Ben's "Zagato", but it's the best of a bunch rather than unique.

Any more pictures of Ben's bike anywhere? It appeared in PB years ago, but I'm too unfashionable to know where to find it now.

thank you Skylar
the new model also comes with a free vintage leather wallet, vintage jeans, and a reserved parking spot at the Ace Cafe.

The factory must have seen Ben's bike, must be aware that their most effective advertising campaign in recent years was that Davida Girl on Zagato, no? Ben, have they ever contacted you about that shot or the bike beneath?

I wasn't taking the piss. I reckon they did find some inspiration there.
As Skylar said, and as, er, I ranted in SB4, this smells like another example of the creative underground getting co-opted by the mainstream, of oxymoronic 'factory customs' snatching tape wrap and fancy font number board motifs from independents and taking possession of those ideas. Maybe?

Gotta reply to BikeEXIF-

BP's bike is indeed "unique" - Just perfectly executed with loads of character. An army of internet bike nerds and 9 out of 10 TV doctors would agree.
