Springfield Mile by Fast and Dirty

2011 AMA Pro Flat Track Springfield Mile I from TheFastandDirty.com on Vimeo.

This is the most evocative footage I've seen of dirt track since On Any Sunday. From the close-ups of custom hot shoes, low twin pipes and Nicole Cheza's tear-offs to the action, seeing Bryan Smith's XR (I originally wrote Johnson, I was getting excited) doing the hully-gully on the exit of turn 4, it's just beautiful. More! G

Beautiful film. We should have clean flat track circuits in this country.

Gary, can quite see why you were so exited, what a great piece of film, what a great track, and racing

Ace. but at the risk of sounding ignorant, a question... Why do they hold the fork leg on the straight?

there are strict AMA rules against aerodynamic aids, so tucking down behind the big number-boards on the mile straights makes for less 'frontal area' = more speed. And grabbing the fork with left hand (the Right has the throttle pinned) helps a little too = few mph more.
