Live from Vegas...

Morning qualifying has just finished. The light inside is a problem for my limited photographic abilities, but here are some snaps from this morning. The bikes here are incredible. I've spotted about ten riders I think I could beat out of the 140 entries. There are pros, amateurs and vintage. And it's encouraging to see how closely related a British short track race is, in the way it's run, to one of Gene Romero's WCFTS events. And virtually everyone knows about our racing in the UK. It makes me proud. And most of it's down to Boastie and Jackie's hard work and massive investment in time and money. I need to buy them a drink. The pits is closed for four hours now. I'm going to try get some food that costs more than $2.99 and get ready for this evening's heats. By the way, Englanders, it's a nice 20-odd- degrees here. GI
Below: This is the car I drove over from LA in. 1981 Lincoln Town Car. Simon and Garfunkel thrift store tape in the deck. Velour class.

You have to visite Mick Doohan's night club, after the event. Maybe

All good stuff but you can't be a tease about your Lincoln's velour interior and not share it!

You coming back to LA? Where will the Sideburn Mag meet-n-greet be held? Restaurant? Bar? Eastside? Westside? Let us buy you a drink or three!

Gary .. now you know what I had to deal with taking photos inside that place last year.

Lighting outside is nice though.

Thanks for the photos, Gary!

Question on the standard dirttrack bikes: Rear rim and tyre sizes on the CRF450s and the SXV550s using original swingarm? Maybe you can ask someone? Yes, It is a longshot! :-)
Have a great time there, Marcus

Great to see the Champion Triumph, it's amazing the time in finish the Americans put into the bikes. Don't worry to much on the quality of the indoor shots, it's great to see them, you'll need to spend a fortune on a camera to handle that light and as you already have one drug habit (bikes) You don't need another
