Deus freaks

There I was, looking through the Deus galleries the other day, when I noticed a bunch of freaks. Two look familiar, but different. One has a big flavour-savour moustache and his grille all plated up, the other has a beard and cap from Revolutionaries R Us. Then I think 'Blimey, it's Nick and Miles the tattooists who I spent an afternoon with at the Isle of Man TT!' They said they were moving to Australia. I thought they were just trying to get rid of me. Hey fellas! I still need that Pooh Bear holding a balloon tatt! GI
PS I hope they're not on the run and those are disguises and I've screwed it up for them.
PPS No idea who the fella on the left is, but I'm sure he's a lovely bloke. No offence.
PPPS I wouldn't normally post a photo of a geezer with a swastika helmet, but Miles has a peace sign tattooed on his hand. I'm sure he really is doing it to 'freak out the squares'. Or perhaps the peace sign is to freak out his neo-Nazi mates. Whatever way up, Sideburn is decidedly, unequivocally anti-nazi.

Just in case you didn't know. Those damn Nazis really gave the swastika a bad rep. Love the blog and read it often. Keep up the good work and check me out:

That dork in the virgil hilts shirt should have the helmet repainted. Especially if he's rocking that thing in Europe. I get it, the Angels wore it in the 50's and 60's, shock value, right. We know what it stands for, buddhist in origin or not- it's tainted. Sorry to go off, but that shit is ridiculous. Have a good weekend Sideburners.

Yes, of course I knew about the swastika's history, but don't be so naive to think wearing one now is being anything but provocative. Or a nazi. Or a dumb, provocative nazi. If he were a yogi, up a tree, I'd think differently but it's on a motorcycle helmet. G

I concur with Skylar on this one. Swastikas just aren't cool.

There must be lots of other ways to "freak out the squares" that doesn't scream "I slept through school, and now I'm too bloody stupid/lazy to pick up a book about anything other than Harley Davidson maintenance".

I worship at the altar of Sideburn, love your mag and visit your blog every single day, but please refrain from posting morons like these.

Have a nice weekend you all.

Hey everyone, we made it clear where we stand, but we'll post what we like. G

I fully understand that you have every right to post whatever you like, and I'm the first to defend freedom of speech and expression.

But I still can't help but feel that these images damages the image of the flat/street track sport/scene. Regardless of your intentions. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Damages a scene? I'll tell you that two of these guys are a damnsight more educated and a damnsight less racist than most of the world's motorcycle racers and that right up to MotoGP level. The guy in the middle has appropriated a 1960s HA-style look, seen a relic from the 60s/70s and worn it. I wouldn't. I wouldn't be seen dead in a swastika. Red Max uses an Iron Cross as a logo and that was on all the UK racer's front number boards. What does that make the scene?

I'm sorry for Miles to bring him into this, but its his dumb old helmet. G

Racist motogp & lower bike classes sounds like a story, you're journo's, why haven't you run it. You obviously know stuff. Sounds very interesting especially from a consumers & sponsors position. F1 has Lewis (quality rides) and an Asian rider from what I remember of that duff series (can't wait for Schue's return though, they should bring back Mansell as well) Has motogp got a Max Mosely etc character(s)?

Sonic, have you even seen Sideburn magazine? Why would we run that story? We're about celebrating motorcycling. Buy the mag and get with it. G

hopefully anti-commie as well :P

Your mag's great. I got em all. I didn't mean run it in Sideburn, that would be silly. Anyway the cats out the bag.

You can't be so naive to post a pic of a person with a swastika on his helmet and not expect to get negative comments. Post as you wish but these kinds of pics paint motorcyclists in a bad light. Also, in my experience, intelligent people don't wear swastikas.
