Buxton

Let's be honest, some of the UK's speedway tracks are shit 'oles
- or they are built near existing shit 'oles. But Buxton is different. It wouldn't be any greener if it was ploinked in the middle of a golf course. Set in the heart of the rolling Derbyshire Peak District, on Sunday 1st August High Edge Raceway hosts round 5 of the UK short track championship. Practice stars at 11am, racing starts 1pm.
What's more the local delicacy of Bakewell Tart will be served in between each heat race. BP

mmmmmmm - the great Bakewell tart v pudding war could be about fire off. I think if you come from "The North" you may call it a pudding - is it as simple as that, or am I missing something - full explanations needed, I feel, and this blog could be just the place to have it out ......

don't get distracted by that sticky nipple of a cherry, as I believe the Cherry Bakewell Tart is a commercial invention of a certain Mr Kippling.

I had a pudding from the town of bakewell once and can report it was replusive and nothing like the tarts from down south at Mr kiplings factory

I agree with Anthony- those bakwell puddings are gross. Nothing with jam in should be that greasy. We went to a special bakery to get one in Bakewell. Mine went for a flying lesson off a hill shortly after....YUK.
That said synthetic bakewell tarts are gross too.

My golly gosh so many afficianados beat me to it indeed the Puddin is correctly the local delicacy of repute, sadly it is also a piece of CAK without the E how could it go so wrong luckily mr K fixed it, actually I prefer the Almond Slices almost like a bakewell tart BUT nowt like a puddin...
