Francesca
Francesca is the long suffering wife of Cyril Green, whose memoirs of escapades in the motorcycle industry, from engineer/test rider, to journalist/industrial spy, always entertain; and we have followed from when they first appeared in snippet form in Bike magazine. If it wasn't for Francesca's rolling hills, I doubt whether Cyril would have bothered talking to the young forensic student who was examining a freshly dredged up Honda CX500 on a jetty in Igoumenitsa when they first met, but nor would his life hurdles have been kicked so cleanly out of his way. This post was meant to be props for Cyril, but it is to his other half we actually owe the gratitude - and for the almost pornographic Carbonara she knocks up using her mama's secret sauce, whenever I visit them in their tiny apartment. Francesca had a brief stint in England as a Crossbow calendar girl in the late 80's but the chilly weather was unbearable, even though the lower temperatures had a visually complimentary effect and the photographer offered an unprecedented increase in wage. I have asked Cyril on numerous occasions what her family background is, and to slowly re-pronounce her maiden name, but both requests always get brushed aside. Is it also true she is an accomplished organist and has pulled out all the stops in the Santa Maria della Salute in Venice? She is an enigma, and I hope one day she will write her own candid memoirs. i remeber reading their travel story on a Greek MC magazine called "Moto" 20 years ago...they had to take apart the CX to put it on the boat, good story... i think they travel around the Equator line or something right?
