Just say No

I called in at an office that publishes a lot of Britain's biggest motorcycle titles. I saw this on the wall of one of the newest magazine's containment cells. It says 'Flat track - Just say No'
I didn't bother asking for an explanation. Underneath was a photo of one of Shinya Kimura's beautiful bikes. That was slapped with a slogan exclaiming 'Say No To Steampunk'.
I left wondering why can't there be more love in the world? G

Sounds like typical herd mentality to me, they are more to be pitied than hated. Much love

Starting out as they mean to go on....Picking on the little guys!!! Do they really feel that threatened by the outer fringes of motorcycle culture? I agree with Mr. Gayton about the herd mentality...but I don't feel any pity......these goons are in a position of power!
SAY NO TO YET ANOTHER DULL,UNINSPIRED,NARROW-MINDED, WIPE-ASS THROWAWAY MOTORCYCLE MAGAZINE!!

They publish the kind of magazine that excitedly informs us of the cubic capacity of the latest, most incredible GSX-R's screen washer bottle... AND that it holds a whole 150ml more than last year's amazing tupperware GSX-R's screen washer bottle... AND that you'd be silly not go down to your local bike supermarket to buy one on finance just like the bloke down the street did... so then you won't have to avoid him because you'd be embarassed on your 2 year old plastic bling machine.

Yes, let's keep sliding down the slope of selling less and less of the same bikes every year..
I met a journo once who made jokes about a mag made at GI's kitchentable when I said that it is not all internet nowadays, but that some people will still pay for print.

well, as he's also got a photo of Grange Hill's Roland Browning on the same wall, maybe he's bitter that he was a former fat kid that got bullied and this is his way of feeling slightly empowered!!!!

On a more positive note with regard to marginalized, minority cycle-culture subliminally breaking thought to the mainstream......Just saw the new TT3D: CLOSER TO THE EDGE Movie and couldn't help but notice Guy Martin sporting a Sideburn 'Dick Mann' shirt for a brief moment and John McGuiness in a Flat Track shirt too!
So theres at least two universally known, very credible, stand up NON-HATERS!

Hopefully the Shorttrack races at the Silverstone MotoGP will go some way to educate the blinkered sport bike masses.
