If you find a copy please let me know since I am dying to have it. Years ago a friend had an entire cassette tape of old singles, two strokes, six cylinders, etc., going past on the track and we would listen for hours while driving to the races. Please keep me posted! Roddy
Ahh Dr-Ogo I had that same BBC Horror record & particularly enjoyed the 'zombie crushing limb' effect, which was listed in the sound engineers notes as being made by 'twisting a section of fresh cabbage, as it made the desired crunch/rip noise'. Charming. BP
Did you as I did, make mind numbingly bad 'Night of the decomposing Elf' horror radio plays using the record alongside a crappy cassette player with a record button? D
I have the Sounds of the Big Irons album. I was always thrilled to listen to it when I was a kid. The one I have is labelled as an "Audition Record" so I'm not sure if it is one of the first or something that was handed out when the record was being promoted. It probably hasn't been on a turntable in 40 years. I planned to list it on Ebay but just found this post. If anyone is interested in it, I would say the outer jacket is in ok condition (with 2 small puched holes in it, not sure if that was to keep it off the shelfs back then...) the inner sleeve is torn, and the abum is in ok condition. I no longer have a turntable so I couldn't tell you if it is scratched (it wasn't way back then.) Contact me at jimrache@yahoo.com or 858-376-7472 Thanks.

I own a copy of it Ben. I can try to get a friend who dj's to convert it digitally if you'd like an mp3 version.
Yes please Mike!
We tried to get the vinyl Hein mentioned but it wasn't available.

I'm on it like a perfectly grooved Dunlop CD2 on a smooth clay track.
