Trying hard

The Italian Job. Jacapo and Marco
Ade Collins' crossover speedway style. He's not even sitting on the seat. Chris Carr would be appalled.
Got dry later on, but better than letting the trackday turn it into a swamp like last year.
I was trying hard today...
Good meeting at Peterborough, thanks to everyone at Short Track UK who makes them happen: Pete, Jackie, the timekeepers, Andy in the pits, Nick and the marshals.
Jacapo Monti (5) came over from Italy (for an amateur race, remember), and put a smile on the faces of the racers and crowd. He's a class act and a real showman, like his compatriot Marco Belli (6). Jacapo won the Thunderbike final from Skooter Farm's Jon 'Captain Highside' Lee. The Italian also camd second in the Short Track final, proving that a Wood Rotax is still a weapon with the right guy on board.
Ade Collins (90) won the final - two for two. He's supported by HM Plant Honda this year - the people behind the Honda British Superbike. And Neil Tuxworth, a former Isle of Man TT winner and team and the man who was Colin Edwards team manager when he was WSB champion, came along to the last round to watch him. The UK series really is going from strength to strength. Next race is the biggie - two-dayer, plus street tracker show, Harley XR meeting, MEFO Euro Cup round and All-American Twins race. Who's coming to watch?
Thanks to Phil Long for the photos.
