Sideburn 11's cover star is Argentine-born, Italian-passport holder, Nicolas Covatti. Raffaele Paolucci took the photo and wrote the story and he updated us with the great news that Covatti has his first Speedway GP wild card entry at this Saturday's Italian GP at Terenzano. Raffaele says...

Now he has a chance. It's a hard race, you know that he runs against the best riders of the world. From many years, they do more than one hundred starts every season. But he is a good boy, very serious, a fair fighter, very spectacular, exemplary inside and outside the track. It will be a great experience, a must if you hope to become a professional rider.
Also, Covatti is rumoured to be joining British Elite league team, the Birmingham Brummies. G

Skip Aksland and Ascot Park

This is Skip Aksland, on it. His son Dustin, a pro photographer, got in touch with a great vintage shot for our Trophy Queen series and we sorted out an interview with Skip for Sideburn 11.
Dustin also sent a link to this amateur film of racing at Ascot Park in 1974.
The voiceover, by the guy who filmed it, gets a little bit, er, you decide, but it's a good glimpse of the mythical place for those, like us, who never had the chance to go. G

Slight delay...

Good news and bad news.
Bad news first, Sideburn 11 should've been delivered today, but our printers are in a jam. I did a four-hour round trip to visit them to try sort the situation. It's 90% finished, that's one full section on a pallet, waiting expectantly, I saw them all, but we've got to get another printer involved to sort the cover.
So, orders won't go out for at least one more week. If anyone wants a refund on their pre-order, email us and we'll sort it out. Otherwise we'll get it to you as soon as.

Good news. The situation is in hand. Another great printer, even closer to SB HQ has said they'll sort it and get it to us by next Friday. The make Ferrari's customer magazine, they're good. Fingers crossed. Sorry for the delay. G

Yep, your favourite British-based, thrice-yearly, dirt track and wide-barred motorcycle magazine is about to give birth to a new issue any day.

It's a beauty. Arty cover by Raffaele Paolucci, there are hardcore in-depth flat track stories on both Jake Johnson's XR750 and Bonneville Performance's Hinckley twin GNC racer, plus interviews with David Aldana and Bubba Shobert. British 'summer' weather is getting to my bones, time for some sun drugs to feed my pasty complexion. My mum used to give me a Haliborange pill every morning when I was a kid, and they were the inspiration for the cover text of Sideburn #11 which is on it's way to the printers. BP

Sideburn & Kiddo, Barcelona
