Long Awaited Female Boss
- as in pinion that accepts 1/2" male protuberance from hand-held starter, specifically for Rotax. BP
Designed to take that little bit of worry out of the queue for your next heat.
Jan at Dutch Brothers sent Co-Built some drawings for a Rotax remote crank starter he had designed and made.
It fits in place of the pulley bolt on the RHS of the Rotax engine.
Our good mate Wilky asked us if we could sort one for his rotax, so we had a few made. They have turned out real nice.
Spec:
Stainless Steel crank nut with a 1/2 inch socket drive spark erroded to a nice depth.(stainless so it wont rust when you wash the bike and then ruin the oil seal).
Standard replaceable oil seal.
Nicely CNC machined oil seal housing.
To fit you can spot through the engine casing and rivet or screw the oil seal casing to the lower timing case of your motor. Or if you want we are offering an exchange casing service with one we have machined using a jig we have made!
Kit £100 (you drill and mount)
Kit and casing exchange £150 (just bolt on and away you go)
Very limited numbers!

New Flat Track School
Mr Motivator, Pete Boast of Shortttrack UK has now taken up the schooling mantle from FT Experience who ceased trading at the end of last year due to dwindling numbers. Boastie was one of the instructors when I did my FTE day, you couldn't want for better tuition, he's both a speedway and flat track champ. He may not be able to tone your pecs and abs, but he can teach you to get your machine sideways. BP
We are pleased to confirm that we are now able to offer training days, running from Scunthorpe Raceway in Lincolnshire. It will be a full day's course from 10am to 4.30 pm, running on a 175 metre oval on 230 CCM DTX bikes provided by us.
The School will be designed for Complete Novices to the sport, Junior riders and racers just starting out.The day will cover starting out on the track, riding position, backing the bike into a bend, controling a slide and riding, more riding, more riding. Instruction will given by 2009 British & European flattrack Champion Pete Boast.

Megatron Tank
Do you feel increasingly threatened by haughty SUVs? Riding a motorcycle there is virtually no protection, only evasive action. If you are bored of being rush-hour schnitzel, you could try a 5 ton Megatron tank created by jiang chen and yang junlin's Wing Wah metalcraft factory in Huizhou, China. BP Thanks to Kay for the tip

£4000
Working with a budget of four grand Boastie bought a heinous 2005 Suzuki SV650 (I do like the look of the earlier ones), and turned it into a brutal and successful flat track framer. Read all about it in SB#6 - back from the printers in a week. BP

New Rave

You've got a lumpy cam, high comp pistons, expensive Japanese carbs, a flowed head etc etc. You've had personal tuition from Chris F***ing Carr, hell you even bought a carbon fibre lid & went on a diet to save weight, but you rivals are still shaving seconds off you. Now what? Have you tried New Rave?
Anthony Brown did, and he's been born again. Already a successful trials and enduro rider, flat track podium places were eluding him until he started donning this Czech made kevlar jump suit. If you happen to come up behind him coming out of a turn, squint, and what ever you do, don't let your pupils focus on the spots; especially at twighlight, when the UV really kicks in. BP

Messer Chups

We apologize to anybody who was expecting a 100% pure beef flat track blog. We have, we do, & will continue to go off topic from time to time. So here's more from our record collection...
The most excellent Messer Chups from St. Petersburg in Russia. I caught them at the Paradiso in Amsterdam a few years ago. Oleg Gitarkin is the nerdy front man, the vampalicious Svetlana Nagayeva aka Zombie Girl on bass. It's B-movie twangy mondo surf, Lydia Kavina on Theremin, & Igor Vdovin on synthesizers, adding even more spacey spook. Sasha Belkov drums. They have 12 albums to their credit. Go check them out if they land on your planet
