San Jose tracker night

Enthusiast Lorin Guy got a bunch of former and current racers and tuners and flat track fans together last week in San Jose CA for "Tracker Night". Good food and adult beverages were served. Joe Leonard was there, and Ray Abrams brought out the
infamous Kenny Roberts TZ750 mile racer machine and started it up for the crowds enjoyment, it was ear-splitting loud. Lots of other beautiful race machines and street trackers were displayed in the show also. I wore my new SIDEBURN shirt proudly, and took some snapshots of the fun.
Thanks!
Ivan

Red Wing 877

As made famous by Mert Lawwill (among others) in On Any Sunday, the '877' model Red Wing boot is the Daddy of tracker footwear.
I was boring my wife with their complete history as I was trying to set up a business deal between their Euro dealer & SIDEBURN;
& buy a pair for myself. The next day she returned from work claiming that "every other girl in the canteen is wearing them."
Bizarrely enough they seem to have been force fed down the fashion gullet as of late - as a replacement for the ugly UGGS?
I always thought the 877 a bit too dorky moose hunter, but my Brogue boots needed a break from all their multi purpose abuse,
So I started Googling. More bizarrely, they were available in some trendy Amsterdam boutique around the corner from my house; & in my U.S. size 12 no less.
Uncomfortable ain't the word for them. Torture! I know they're tough guy work boots, but man, I contemplated Achilles heel
corrective surgery they were that stiff. now after a month of Lotus foot self abuse they fit like old slippers & I even wear them
in bed when its cold.

Trackmaster

Has changed hands again...
Ray Hensley and the Trackmaster name are synonymous with high quality racing frames. After Ray's death, many fans of Trackmaster worked to keep the chassis' going and the company name alive. Last year, Powroll's Pete Fisher picked up all existing components and fixtures from Tri-C Engineering, and began the long process of updating the designs to current production standards.
The Trackmaster facility at Powroll is nearly complete, and we will begin processing standing orders soon.
If you have questions that aren't covered here, or would like to be notified when product becomes available, you can email Pete at: trackmaster@powroll.com

Beer! Speedway!

On your way to watch the King's Lynn race on Saturday you could call in at two of Sideburn's favourite shops, both are only a few miles from the Norfolk Arena.

First, Alan Bellham Speedway service in Terrington St Clements. See new Jawa bikes, buy steel shoes, speedway boots, killswitches, hard-facing rods for your worn-out hot shoe... Ring for opening times.

Then go to Beers of Europe, the biggest beer shop we've ever seen. They've got everything (though they are ALWAYS sold out of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, so I have to buy Goose Island). This is part of one aisle, they've got three or four. www.beersofeurope.co.uk/

How difficult would it be to build a replica of this 750? Not very.

King's Lynn this weekend

Come and support UK dirt track. The series NEEDS people through the gate to survive. If you like flat track, and live in England please make the effort. (sorry for the shocking spelling on the first draft. I wanted to get out and clean my chain).

Heats from about 5pm, main event at 7, under the floodlights. It's both a cobbled together TT (so short track with an infield jump) and straight oval racing for the juniors and Thunderbikes. It'll be carnage (if you like that kind of thing).
For directions got to http://www.norfolkarena.co.uk/directions.htm
