The Grand Marshall will be none other than Gary Nixon. On the Friday night, he will also be hosting a talk with Don Emde. The rest of the event is more star studded than 'I'm a celebrity Get Me Out of Here'. Excellence guaranteed. Spike Livingston started Ragged Edge Racing when he couldn't find replacement parts for his own Dresda Suzuki RG500 and ended up fibreglassing them himself. This svelte thing is from his steel framed Spondon Suzuki TR500Being a one-man-band, he carries virutally nil stock, it's a made to order service. I phoned in my order on Tuesday morning and it was popped out of the mould first light Thursday "....it'll be ready at 6am, I'm an early riser". The workshop is rammed with moulds for everything from Brit classics to Japanese exotica. Check this yummy TZ250 Arse.If you want something oddball taylor made, Spike is up for it.Spike is also amassing battle damaged originals such as this lovely Kirby full fairing that would have graced a Manx Norton or such like back in the day. "I have just finished my H-D XR750 seat mould and will (as soon as I get time) be making that with integrated number boards. Also I will do the Kwaka 'Z' seat with number boards, and I have a few grasstrack items in the shed that may suit, and front numberboards etc. Keep an eye on my site in a couple of months.....

CCM tracker up-date

After much umm'ing and ahh'ing, I've decided on a Seeley Commando Mk3 hump from Ragged', for my on-going CCM tracker conversion - I basically don't want an XR750 look-a-likey body kit. It's going to need some customizing to mate nicely with my Sprite tank. Chunky arse with rounded tank combination sounds all wrong, but I figure it works suprisingly well on the Seeley, so why not suck it and see? BP.A Seeley Commando earlier today.

UPDATE: Sorry for lack of replies. I've had a catastrohpic computer breakdown.
Answers to some of the comments.

1. Speed, dunno. Fast enough. My speedo isn't calibrated. About 40-50mph.
2. No, I don't use a throttle lock, just get up and back down. It's very stable right down to 20mph or so.
3. The Guzzi is stable is a straight line, the engine orientation makes no difference.
4. Those aren't winter trees. This photo was taken by Ben last Thursday evening.

Stoke next Saturday

The next round of the Short Track UK championship is next Saturday, July 10. It is now a day race, not night as previously advertised. It's also free entry. It rained the first time I went there. This is my old Knight Rotax on Astralite 18s.

AMA Vintage Nationals

Hi Gary,
You don''t know me but my name is Rob. I bought a couple of mags and a shirt a year or so ago. Anyhow, your mag sparked my interest in flat track. There are no tracks here in Canada, that I know of, so I went to the AMA vintage nationals this past weekend in NY. That guy Greaser Mike was there, couldn't miss the sparkly leathers.
I took a few photos of some of the bikes, and thought you might like them. I am not a pro photog, so please excuse the quality.
I shrunk them down to be easier to mail.
The photo with the two riders, the guy in front is 75 years old. He won a race both nights.
