Project RE hardtailed

There was a photo of Project Royal Enfield in the back of the LDV, but here are a couple leaning on it. The tank was bought from Jason. He had it custom made for one of his bikes, but he was never happy with it. It was made by the Tank Shop and it isn't their best work, it has to be said. It'll look great on the Enfield though.
Co-Built welded on the Bird hardtail loops we got from Lowbrow Customs. Co-Built also made the rear wheel spacers. The Rear brake is PM on an A&A hanger. The bike is back with us to make a few decisions about footpeg position, rear mudguard, seat and the front wheel clearance. I want that rear seat tube cutting and repositioning. Looking good so far though. G

The Black Arrow's Engine

This is how the GSX-R1100 engine I bought for the Black Arrow was delivered. Eek. It's over at CFM.G

So-Cal Streettracker

This is some kind of collaboration between Streetmaster (who built their first bike in conjunction with Mule) and hot rod/dry lake royalty So Cal Speed Shop. Lots of nice details, but the pipes look unnecessarily noisy. The spec is the same lightweight chassis (as developed by Mule, we believe) and tuned and lightened motor with a big flatslide. The alloy sidepanels and tail are a nice change from the norm. Slimmed down clutch cover is neat too. G

Kocinski's new bike

It's short notice, but John Kocinski will be racing his Knight Honda in the SCFTA meet at Perris today. Practice starts at 5, so there might be time for some of you to get out there. Someone interview him about his bike for us, please! I'd love to be there. G

Sammy Halbert Road Racing!

This weekend at Infineon (Sears Point, right?) in the AMA XR1200 series. This, from a press release:

To prepare for his XR1200 class debut, the Graham, WA, rider has attended several racing schools and track days to acquaint himself with the techniques of motorcycle road racing. “I know I’ll have some catching up to do, but I’m hoping once it’s race time, my competitive instincts will kick in and I’ll be able to keep up,” Halbert said.

When his competitive instincts kick in? Holy cow, we'd love to see this. Joe Kopp is doing a full season, we think. He came third at Daytona. G

UPDATE: As BBC said, Sammy's been having speedway lessons. We didn't know he was thinking of coming over here, though. I'm emailing him now! Watch this video. He gets the hang of it... We spotted it at Poppawheelie. G

Theres hardly anybody up here in Scotland doing anything imaginative concerning bike-building though myself and a few mates have a right handful of things which go completely un-noticed because of our lack of desire to be seen. I, however, have grown tired of my friends efforts being enjoyed by us alone so i thought I would sneak you a shot of Paul's wee tracker.There was a helluva lot of time, effort and dosh went into this wee ride and I'd like to see it on your killer blog.
