IOM TT x DSM

Managed to meet up with the Des Moines crew at Quarter Bridge. Good times. From L-R: GI, Jeff (Church of Choppers/FTWCo), Dustin (Sinners), Billy T (DSM, Iowa), random Manx punk who likes the company of American visitors... Fatty had fallen asleep in his tent.
Below: Jeff chats to the locals. It's great to see guys who've made such a massive effort to see a bike race really enjoying it, but they're annoyed the bars shut early. 'We've had better parties in our friend's yard,' said Billy. G
PS Guy Martin was in a safe 2nd behind McGuinness on lap 5 when his bike broke down. You obviously didn't pray enough.

Isle of Man update

I love getting the ferry to the Isle of Man, but flying in on a sunny morning is good too. I'd only been here an hour when Jamie (with the Bastard) walked by me in a Sideburn T-shirt. Going meet up with Jeff, Fatty and Dustin from Church of Choppers/ FTWCo/Sinners later. And Antonio Merinero (whose work is for sale in the Sayle gallery in Douglas) and Victor from Madrid. Saw Mark Miller too. His mechanic was given a new Aprilia road bike in a crate to turn into a race bike in a day. They were still trying to get the carbon fairing to fit two hours before final practice.
Hung around with Guy in his secret lair last night. He was very pleased with his new Zombie sweatshirt. Get yours at the Sideburn shop before they all go.
It's the Dainese-sponsored Superbike TT today. Pray to your god that the riders (and fans) are safe and that Guy wins. G
RESULTS HERE:

Hooked Up

This is Henry Tyrell-Smith in the 1929 Senior, at the Isle of Man TT. By the fourth lap his Rudge was three minutes ahead when he crashed at Glen Helen. He re-mounted and still managed to finish 3rd despite leg injuries and three cracked ribs; just 50 seconds behind a Sunbeam in 2nd. The place seems to propagate madmen. Gary is there now. BP

Cafe Racer Festival

Our friend Bertie B, and his Cafe Racer Team, is organising a cafe racer festival at Charade, an old circuit in France. Nice flyer. Good luck BB. G

The Bastard

Saddened not to be able to make the Rye House practice organized by Mike Ryan last Saturday. And what's very worrying is that Jamie's 'Bastard' XR600 rat will be gnawing at my heels come Amman Valley. Now equipped with Comstar 19" front wheel and ZZR600 front forks.Only a crack fox is more ugly. BP
