Weidman wins, Wiles looks mean

Matt Weidman (#20) won night two at Daytona, from Jared Mees and 2011 Rookie of the Year, Brad Baker; Henry Wiles, below, looked like Darth in practice.
There looked to be a bigger crowd for the short track than there was for the Daytona 200 when I went a few years ago.
Next round is the double-header of Springfield TT and Springfield Mile 1 at the end of May. G

UPDATE: I'm an idiot. Weidman is leading after two races. A second and this win, tops everyone as Lewis came 8th. Sorry.

Daytona Styling

Johnny Lewis. The man in black. No front mudguard, good man.
Sammy Halbert. Feet up.
Kenny Coolbeth
Bryan Smith. How aggressive? Hayden Gillim from the Pro Singles class. I'm sure he's a cousin of Nicky Hayden (shares the same number, too).
Pro Singles winner, Gerit Callies.
Johnny Lewis!

Johnny Lewis wins Daytona ST 1

Wow! Johnny Lewis won the first of two nights of Short Track at Daytona!
Before the race he said he was dedicating the race to his friend Mark Adams, a race mechanic, who was killed when he was hit by a car as he helped a stranded motorist at the side of the road.

Matt Weidman was 2nd, Sammy Halbert, 3rd. New boy, featured in SB10, Briar Baumann was an amazing 8th in, what I think, is his first GNC race.

JL10 - class act! I think we're going to have to get some more of our JL10 stickers made. G

Northern Soul

No stories yet on sand racing in Dubai, or ice racing in Antarctica, but we are covering a lot of territory. SB#10 has a story on chopper speedway in Finland. Photos by Finn Mikko Toiviainen, words by Mancunian globetrotter Dan Walsh.

If you are still wondering what the hell defines Sideburn? It's more about attitude. We don't care if you wear leather or lace.
"It's not what you ride, but how you ride it" is core. If your bike has knobblies or high bars, you're probably half way there.

American (bike-riding) Werewolves in London

Saturday's Stags show was in a pub I'd never heard of on a street I wouldn't have gone down if it wasn't for the gig. But I'm glad I did, a great place and they're having a free film night showing Werewolves on Wheels on Thursday March 29.
The Stags Head, Hoxton.
This movie is covered in The Big Book of Biker Flicks.G

HWZN

Mattie Roberts, stationed in Tokyo, who wrote the Animal Boat story in SB#7 has been to Komyomachi to get the inside story on the brothers HWZN. Magical photos by Yochiki Suzuki. SB#10 Scorches highways, byways, race tracks, and beaches. BP
