DuQuoin Indoor Short Track

The Springfield TT and Mile is this weekend and we found these AMA Pro Racing photos we hadn't posted to whet your appetites. This is Jake Johnson in his Troy Lee pyjamas.
Indoor short track rules. This is DuQuoin all prepped for the race on April 16, earlier this year.
Nicole Cheza seems to do better on the big tracks. She didn't make the main at DuQuoin.

If all goes well, I'll be taking a second shot at flat track this Saturday. Worked the bike over a bit: new Works shocks, Davey Durelle re-valved, shortened, and re-sprung forks, new plug, adjusted timing, and went to a larger rear sprocket.
Hope to get lapped by fewer people this time!

Happy Daze

Glue sniffing meant a lot to me age 12, that whole miniaturized parallel universe thing. Having started with Airfix aged 8, I progressed to the far superior Tamiya. OK Who knew the American popular culture expression 'jumping the shark', originates from a melodramatic Happy Days scene in which Fonzie jumps over a tank of sharks on water skis. It is now used (according to Wikipedia) to denote the moment when a television series [or anything?] loses its credibility due to predictable repetition or contrived extensions of its theme, usually as a result of the writers being unable to maintain its quality indefinitely.

Killer Diller is Two

Killer Diller is a weekly radio show hosted by Sideburn's official DJ, Sir Johnny Alpha, and this week it's two years old. Killer Diller is the soundtrack of my life. What is it? A 90-minute mix of freakbeat, French yeh-yeh, sleazy tittyshakers, popcorn, surf instrumentals, 60s soul and R&B, doo-wop, garage punk, 70s and 80s punk and countless other genres I'd never heard of previously. It's all strung together with Sir Johnny's dulcet Wigan tones. He really let's the music do the talking, not like some of garage punk internet DJs and they're crap reverb soaked schtick. I love Killer Diller.
