Chopper Speedway

All Dirt Quake 2 races classes are filling up fast, but we have a few more available for choppers. You may have already ticked off Route 66 / West to East coast / ride while standing in cruciform / and even shag in the saddle, from your 'To Do Before I Die' list, but have you ever followed a giant steaming meat pie out on to a speedway oval and then thrown your not exactly sporty barge into a powerslide?

Asterisk KX500

This is the Asterisk KX500 that is getting a lot of love on the Japanese show scene, winning awards at MoonEyes Yokohama, etc.
We have a great feature and action shots of the bike, written by our Japanese correspondent, Big Mattie - in Sideburn 13. You can see the builder is proud of the feature as he's made it part of his display at the recent New Order show.

OEM Pre-Quake Bash

The good people at Old Empire Motorcycles have organised a pre-party a few minutes drive from the track on the Friday night. The idea is to make more of a weekend for those travelling a long distance. We'll have a DJ, a barbecue, there's a bar as well. This is a proper campsite and there will be other campers there, so it's not a lairy night. The camping is being taken care of by the owners of the site, so to book your pitch, call 01945 430167 and quote 'Dirt Quake'.

Bike Trailer: For Sale

 

We very rarely try and sell anything on this blog. Well, the magazine. And the T-shirts. And sweatshirts, sometimes. Oh, and books. And Motorcycho. But other than that, nothing. Ever.
But this could be good for someone.
This is the trailer I used for three seasons before I bought my van. I bought it brand new, and chose it because it splits down for easy storage. You can stick it in a shed or carry it through the house to the backyard.
It's a really clever design, that pivots down for easy loading. The front wheel locates into a chock, for one-person loading. A lick of paint wouldn't go amiss, but it's solid.
£190 including a brand new, never used, light/number plate board. Motorcycle and tiedowns not included.
Collection or I could get it to a DTRA race.

Anybody know what ARMY is refering to on Mike Kidd's XR tank here? Was he a vet'? BP

UPDATE: I hadn't seen this post, but yes, as Dan said the US Army have sponsored lots of motorcycle sport. The National Guard (bottom) and, I think, the police too. It's used to drive recruitment, in the same way TV or magazine advertising is. G
