ABC Amsterdam and Den Haag

Apologies to our Dutch readers for not keep our lowland fires burning. The American Book Center on the Spui, in Amsterdam has finally now been stocked with SB#7. The first time I went there, they weren't so sure and just took 10, which immediately evaporated, so they took 20 of the next, now they're up to 30.
ABC Den Haag, on Lange Poten are now giving us a spin too, but they only took 10 copies so don't hang around. BP

Calling Londonites

Living in central London, it's a challenge I know, to travel past the M25 without the aid of an airport. But this is a call to leave your comfort-zone and travel the 60 miles from Marble Arch to Kidlington, Oxford OX5 1AT tomorrow evening for our Aldana night, and watch him and a host of other current hot riders race at the Sandy Lane OX4 6LJ, speedway circuit on Friday night under floodlight.
Yeah I know you're sick of us harking on about DA, but you'll be more sick if you miss him. BPClassic trophy queen snap by Dan Mahony

Don't follow the crowd

Not the riding wear du jour, a £250 vintage deck jacket, for Driver Chris. Nope this fashionista is sporting a killer combo of Fieldsheer Acid Worm suit and Sideburn Eddie T-shirt. What he needs is a Scott Russell Shoei to finish off the look. G

Warthog

Listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music last night when he had the excellent Dan Sartain in session. They were talking about this clip. This song brings back a lot of great memories. G

Marky and Joey Ramone both wore Lewis Leathers 402 Lightning jackets, that are still produced to exactly same spec today (minus the body fluids stains). BP

New: 13 T-shirt

Just in time for Thursday's Aldana Night and Friday's race in Oxford, we have new Sideburn T-shirt design. Available in red only and sizes S-XL.
Every order of this shirt gets a free Aldana sticker.

Order yours at Sideburn's webshop.
Or buy yours at our night and I bet David will sign it for you.

Also, check out the great post of David Aldana over at Poppawheelie (where these photos were lifted from). Poppa wishes he could make it to our night, but he lives in California. So, if you live any closer, stop pussing about and support UK events. Otherwise you'll be left with the same shit old pub meets. It's too late to send out the last few tickets, so email us and we'll stick your name on the door to pay on the night. £11.

Hot damn!

Was this hiding the same place as O B Laden? Thanks to Chris for the tip-off.

'1980 XR-750 unused, in storage for 30 years! A rare opportunity to own a piece of American 2 wheeled history!'
On US eBay...

UPDATE: Seems the listing ended early. It had six days to go.

El Solitario MC

Honoured to see this photo on David's El Solitario MC blog with a Sideburn sticker on the tank of his Triumph. The bike was built by Meatball of Hell of Wheels and Brittown fame for David in Spain. I really love this bike. It was featured in Greasy Kulture 16.
Every order from Sideburn gets whichever free sticker we have at the time. It's currently the limp sticker. G

En Attendant

The most obscure in my collection of motorcycle postcards. Basically translates as 'Days to go until home leave, and my amazon girlfriend picks me up on her Mobylette'. BP

Dirtie Bonnie

From long-time Sideburn supporter Ivan Thelin of Old Skool Alloy...

I'm putting a low-buck build together starting with a '69 Bonneville a friend gave me on the promise I'd ride her. Bike was a neglected cafe rat bike gone silent, but had some cool bits on it. Since I'm a short tracker this one's going to be dirt
ready but street legal. My friend called her That "Dirtie Bonnie" which fits perfectly. Continuing that theme she's going together using free, cheap, and loveless parts. Here's a couple shots including one of the seat pan I made from a liberated road sign. Soon as she's running, I'll send more snaps if you like. Ivan...

JPS Norton

Dave Aldana at Daytona in '74 on a stainless-steel monocoque Norton (built in '73). One of my all-time fave bikes. BP

See David Aldana's Sideburn evening live talk show-thing then watch him race flat track this week in Oxford. Details here David Aldana UK Tour.
