I always enjoy opening an email of a newly finished bike from Mule Motorcycles.
What I love about the bike:
1. How tightly the exhaust tucks under the engine (Mule didn't send photos of the other side).
2. The Morris wheels.
3. The colour of the wheels.
4. The rear caliper hanger.
5. The Keihin FCR flat slides.
6. The Mule tail unit.

Greasy Kulture x Boneshaker Day

Fellow British-based independent moto magazine Greasy Kulture had a do at Boneshaker choppers HQ in the West Midlands, so we went along to support the cause.

Plenty of traditional style choppers - that's GKM's bag. Man in fez too.

This bike belongs to one of the guys behind the Eat Dust clothing brand. There are a lot of clothing companies starting up that are hanging their metaphorical hat on motorcycling, but I can't think of one of them that puts in the miles this guy does. He rode over from Belgium for this afternoon meeting, then went home the next day for work. He rides everywhere.
I don't profess to know a ton about the Harley scene, and I know a lot of followers of this blog are in the same boat, but I'll share the bit I learnt. This bike is modified in 'the club style'. The club doesn't refer to The Ivy or Bolton Wanderers, but the modern outlaw patch clubs. Straight bars, muted colours, uprated suspension, twin shocks, tuned engine, bikini fairings. It's a totally different kettle of fish to the traditionally-styled hardtails that filled the car park. These FXR and Dyna Harleys are supposed to be the best long mileage big twins (that aren't full dressers). There, you know as much as me.
I took this photo to show the hi-rise bar clamp, stock clocks and satnav. Again, very different to the predominant traditional choppers.
Anyway, Eat Dust know denim and know how to ride a long way.

It wasn't all choppers and bobbers. Cristi, rode down from Manchester on his Paul Smart Replica. I thought he looked a stylish dude, so gave him a Sideburn sticker. 'Thanks,' he said, 'I'll have it but I've already got one.' I love it when some I think looks interesting already buys Sideburn. Well, I like it when anyone buys it.

Lee Bowers confirmed for Dirt Quake

Icon Motosports have come through again with a top stunt rider for Dirt Quake II.
In among the band, the milk chug*, the inappropriate bikes, the chopper speedway and all the other good stuff we have lined up, we will also have UK street bike freestyle star Lee Bowers performing on his custom-framed Kawasaki.

Remember when you could do bunny hops on your BMX? Perhaps you still can. Lee can do them on a sportsbike. And just watch what he does at 3:10 in the film. I had to watch it twice to make sure I'd seen what I thought I did.

For Sale: The Co-Built Panther

Our mate Dael is selling his bike to start a new project. The bike is in London.

Completely custom Triumph Bonneville - featuring an endless amount of parts from master craftsmen of Co-Built fame; from wide alloy yokes to a 2-into-1 stainless steel and Inconel exhaust system. Airbox removed, carbs re-jetted and a hell of a lot of weight cut. 
Custom alloy wheels built by the Devon Rim Company, with new tubeless Pirelli Angel ST tyres. Adjustable Bitubo suspension front and rear. Any parts that weren't fabricated in England by Co-Built came from the German parts manufacturer LSL (adjustable levers, mirrors, bar-ends, sprocket cover, flat track bars). Too much to list here - the full details are on eBay. £8,500.

Sammy wins Stockton Half-Mile

After missing the first two races at Daytona after an off-season knee operation, Sideburn favourite Sammy Halbert, #7, had a hell of a comeback by winning the Stockton half-mile after a race-long battle with Brad Baker, #12, Halbert hadn't ridden a bike for months, before a quick spin around his garden, without a helmet, the day before setting off for California. 

It was the first GNC twins race of the year and the first time to get the big bikes out in a National race this year.

Another Sideburn fave, Johnny Lewis made the main on his brand new Latus Triumph Bonneville. He came 13 in the main, and was the second Triumph, behind Mikey Martin on the Bonneville Performance Triumph (the bike we featured in Sideburn 11).

Brandon Robinson, 44 Kawasaki, showed his class after his debut win at Daytona by coming in sixth. Jeffrey Carver Jr, 23, recently stepped up from the Pro Single Class, came 9th.

Pro Singles action. The class is known for close racing, but Wyatt Mguire rode away from the field to win by 4.6secs over the length of the 16-lap race, from Shayna Texter (who we featured in Sideburn 5).

The fine details of Jake's XR750 are described by team owner Dave Zanotti in depth in Sideburn 11.

Kenny Coolbeth and Kayl Kolkman, 7th and 14th respectively

Bryan Smith, 42, was uncharacteristically outside the top ten, in 12th.

Nichole Cheza failed to make the main.

Jake Johnson rides the rear brake to keep the bike settled keeping the throttle open further than some of the other riders. Technique.

Number one plate this year? Sammy's traditional adversaries Jake Johnson and Jared Mees, came fourth and 16th... G

Lost (and found) in Hamburg

Hi There! 
Just came from Hamburg Germany. I found really fine bike shop, Single & Twin. Took some photos and when I got back to my hotel I check those snapshots. There was some strange magazine on a counter. Never seen before... 
Next morning had to go back and take more photos and buy all issues they have. 
Really really fine magazine just what we need in this shit internet world...
