How badly do you want 'em? I just saw a set posted on caferacer.net...and trades were considered.

Thanks Frank, but I only want brand new ones. I don't want to be screwing about with four part-worn carbs on this bike I'm building. G

Are those round slide?

Don't you want flat slides?

I'm told roundslides work better on road bikes and road bikes throttle openings. Anyone back me up, or am I wrong. G

My only experience with flat slides is the carb I'm now using on my Husky (Keihin FCR) and it works a LOT better than the original round slide. Even at low revs.

Its all down to size and type of carb,a lot of the early Mikuni and Keihin "race" carbs had no idle circuits, combine that with too large a choke size on the road and zero throttle response. My old ZXR-RR was crap aswell, brilliant on a race bike not so hot on the road, but if you get the right size choke (usualy a lot smaller than ego dictates),correct size flatslides are the only way to go.
Having said that the old round slide CR's are really good carbs (providing they are not too big of course)!
