Dimitri at Catalina

OTW Collection: Dimitri Coste from Off The Wall TV on Vimeo.
A short film about the mighty Dimitri Coste racing at the Catalina GP. The Triumph in this film was featured (in an earlier guise) in Sideburn 5. Dimitri has shot a few stories for us and we have another lined up for issue 10.
The chap on the excellent black Harley JD (at 1:03) is Homer Knapp. Troy Critchlow took a wonderful set of photos of him and his bike for Sideburn 7.

And, finally, I found this video at Derestricted. G

Homer Knapp Feature

Two-and-a-bit years to put a name to a face in a snap-shot from an unknown photographer and to arrange a photo-story. It was worth the effort. Our sharp shooter Troy Critchlow flew down to LA from Seattle to meet up with Andrew Gray who wrote the story on the legendary Homer Knapp and his legendary JD Harley. SB#7 is at the printers! BP

Blue Trains, Gray Brains

No more cock-teasing, this is the final SB#6 snippet before the magazine comes back from the printer. Sara's Triumph has already done the rounds of cyberspace and elsewhere, but we still hungered for more. Photography Troy Critchlow. BP

Shinya Kimura x Troy Critchlow x GI x GQ Italy

Troy Critchlow got in touch a few weeks ago to say he had some great shots of his friend Shinya Kimura racing at Bonneville on a Harley he built for a customer. He asked if I knew anyone who'd run a story. It turns out Michele at GQ Italy loves the photos as much as I did and the story is in this month's magazine. Everyone's a winner. I don't think it's on sale much longer though so buy it today. GI

Kay Zee

Long overdue, we finally do a feature in the forthcoming SB#4, on Nikki DiBlasi's KZ400 which took blogland by storm a while back. You have to have a Lot of vision to turn such a heinous duckling into one of the sexiest street trackers this side of Mars. Photos by her other-half Troy Critchlow. BP

Technological Loop

Mad science. Troy Critchlow is in the States, snapping vintage class riders role out on to the grid. Its 7:30pm. Here in England its 1:12am and am busy doing a layout of the Wrench Monkees XLCH for SB#4. He Emails me photos taken on the other side of the planet, and seconds later I'm sharing them with the rest of the planet. He can even log onto the blog from the middle of a dusty field and leave a comment. BP

Davenport Assortment

From our Washington correspondent, Troy Critchlow, who this week-end, is in Davenport Iowa, for the AMCA swap-meet. Rummaging through bins of rusted chrome and enjoying some turn-left action. (these photos were sent via his Blackberry phone) Flash bastard. BP

Nikki's push iron

Nikki sent through a bunch of notes she made at the Las Vegas indoor short track when she was reporting for us. We've just got to decide which bike is going in SB4. It reminded me I'd downloaded this lovely photo from Nikki and Troy's Chico Moto blog

Psychedelic Pedestal

Paul Herman has been in the Sideburn inspiration folder since before we knew his name - and before we had even decided on our name. Yet another downloaded snap of unknown origin. I patronizingly assumed he was just game for a laugh, but he's a winner. Full story in SB#3 out next week, with photos by Troy Critchlow.

McQueen and Nikki

That's Nikki from Chico Moto. Troy took the shot. Don't know if he also did the graffiti in the background.
Below it are two free downloadable wallpapers by Driver Chris. Neat.

More HWZNBROSS

From Troy C.
Love the goggles and full-face combo, very Toecutter. Still can't, and never will, get onboard with the swastika fetish, though.
Thanks Troy.

'These are some shots of some of the Hwzn Bross in the Mooneyes parking lot.'

Trailing leg

Found by Troy C at Chico Moto
I really would like a 1920s bike. I never thought I'd say that. Not a clue what that bike is. Though, because it's a parallel twin I'd like to think someone will make a replica using a CB500T motor.
Top goggle action too. GI

Kawasaki Nikki

Nikki is part of our Vegas team. She, along with Troy C, covered the recent Gene Romero race for the upcoming Sideburn. Her bike and style is right up our strasse. And it seems like we're not her only fans. We found this artwork on the Driverchris blog. Neat-o.
The photo is by Troy at Chicomoto.

Las Vegas slider

And to get back on track (for those who dislike Sideburnblog's deviations) from Troy's trip to Vegas...

'Sideways? This kid in Vegas could put it sideways.'

Nixon

Beautiful Nixon Triumph Trident nicked from Troy
I bet this was a handful. But were they ever that shiny when they raced? GI

Knighthood

Troy Critchlow is just back from Vegas. He's shot so many photos we have enough material for the next 1000 issues of SB. He's up for a Knighthood.

Troy Critchlow in Vegas

My Nokia 6233 mobile with pinhole camera / movie / internet, is an over complicated gadget, and I long for my old obsolete TELEPHONE only mobile brick, but how amazing to receive this via mobile from our Vegas correspondent Troy Critchlow, top photographer, and builder of the funky Kwack that was bouncing around planet blog.
