Brit Riders rule FIM Flat Track

The first ever FIM International flat track race went off in Czech Republic last week, with Europe's best  racers in attendance. Six riders travelled from GB, all six made the final, with Aidan Collins and Tom Woolley coming first and second.
I'd love to see how Collins would go in the deep end of American short track, given a good bike and a few races to acclimatise. He's the quickest in England and has proven he has the beating of the rest of Europe.
Well done to all involved.
The next round is in Italy, then there are two in the US and one in Hungary. Go to the FIM for more details.
Remember, Collins and the cream of UK short track will be in action at King's Lynn this Saturday. Racing from 1 till 5. £10 on the gate. G

Bouncing Czechs

The Czech Flat Track series continues at Euro Bike Fest. Jan-Willem Dutch Brother sent this...

I think Friday will be short track, although it's a big one, the inside line is 425m, whereas most speedway tracks are about 360-380m measured this way. and saturday is TT. the track photo was taken after laying out the track. It will be graded and waltzed by now and hopefully the 4m high, 60m long hill is also in place as planned! There will be categories for experts, jawas, twins, pre '59 and perhaps more depending on what turns up!

Euro Round-Up

How about this for a DIY track? It looks like something out of 1950s Mid-West. Here is the round-up from Jan-Willem about the European flat track series and the All-American Twins season.

Team ZAETA can look back on a great season with the all new, Italian built dirt track machine, winning four of the nine rounds! The Zaeta is a full blood flat track racer based on the latest generation of framers, before they were banned from the GNC Championship in the US.
The final round of the International Mefo Sport Flattrack Cup 2010 was relocated to the natural soil dirt track in Pasohlavky, just south of Brno in the Czech Republic, after Blijham was cancelled due to excessive rain damaging the track.
Jan-Willem Jansen was crowned first All American Twins Champion! The Jansen brothers were tied for points, but unfortunately Mick Jansen was racing on a borrowed bike, with which he was unable to pose a real threat to Jan-Willem Jansen. Tom van Nes saw his consistent performance rewarded with third place overall!
