March 13 is Dimitri Coste Day. Pt. 2
The French website Husz.fr has published Dimitri's 2013 race diary. Last year saw the Frenchman compete on short circuits, flat track, Vintage MX and drags (organised and outlaw). He used a mixture of British, American and European singles and twins in France, England and the USA. And wearing a different Ruby helmet nearly every time, it seems.
The article is in both French and English. G

Dirt Quake II Flashback
Dirt Quake II | Short Film from Paul Leeson on Vimeo.
Paul sent us this film he made of Dirt Quake II from the sidelines last May (yes, May, even though there are people shivering like it's Stalingrad in the winter of '44). Cheers Paul.
We're sorting out details for both DQIII and DQUSA and will post up more info as and when, but save the dates. It is/they are going to be fun.
Dirt Quake USA - 31 May - 1 June. Castle Rock, WA
Dirt Quake III - 18-19 July. King's Lynn. UK.

Thor Drake preparing to race the Sideburn Royal Enfield at Dirt Quake 2.
He has the front brake lever in his left hand, after removing it for the upcoming dirt track heats. Thor flew on our 500 (you can read all about this bike in SB 10)
Great photo that brings back a lot of good memories by Charles Shearn. G

Food Fantasy by See See Motorcycles
This is the new high-concept riding film from our good friends at See See in Portland. Thor, who visited England for Dirt Quake II in the summer, said it was directly inspired by the Sideburn Pie. G

Australian Cafe Racers x DQII
Jordan from Australian Cafe Racers has attended a couple of Sideburn events, amazingly, as he lives on the other side of the world. He's posted up a ton of photos and a report of Dirt Quake II on ACR website. Above are the Rusty Nail guys from Yorkshire doing their event finale bike tug of war.
Below is a little film about Jordan and the love he has for his 125 Honda. G

Dirt Quake Survivor for Sale
UPDATE: SOLD
From Rupert Farnsworth - Dirt Quake II survivor.
For fear of damaging the priceless collectables I have decided not to try and remove them from the bike - so it seems sensible to throw that in to the deal. This way the lucky buyer could enjoy the ownership of the stickers complete with a fetching background which can provide good reliable (mechanically sound/cosmetically challenged) transport.
I reckon those SB stickers have to be worth 225 each with the bike thrown in ie.£450.00. That's got to be minimum price for a commuter with MOT. Is a 72/73 cb175/200 hybrid. Frame is CB175 with CB200 motor. Registered on V5 as '73 (that's the cb175 frame and correct reg number) so comes tax free next year under the new rules. Has 11 months MOT, new tyres, new clutch and a few spares. Nothing wrong with the bike but I've got to build myself a racer now I've tasted the dirt - so the 'shop is having a clear out. Any sale receipts go to racer kitty.
Contact mail at spanhoe.com The bike is based in Northants. 10 mins from the Peterborough A1 junction.
Below, Subaru hauler tested to 80mph on the A47. Smooth as silk.

Martin Squires does Dirt Quake
Automotive illustrator Martin Squires is becoming a real regular at Sideburn events. In fact, he's a regular at every kind of event. He seems to travel to at least one per week, sketching motorcycles, cars, hot rods, tractors, trucks, people...
He's written up a nice Dirt Quake II report on his blog, to accompany the sketches he did on the day. He's open for commissions too... Martin Squires Automotive Illustrator.
These bikes are Pete's Old Blu Triumph and Ross Rusty Nail's Honda. G

Dirt Quake II Flickbook by Götz Göppert
French photographer Götz Göppert made this neat flickbook of the thrills and spills of Dirt Quake II. If your name is Dimitri 'The Crowdpleaser' Coste (or someone who loaned him a bike to race) then it might be painful viewing.
There is plenty of DTRA action and details in there too. G

Dirt Quake 2 - May contain nuts
Well, Dirt Quake is over for another year. Thanks to all the helpers and our great sponsors. Thanks to our friends at the DTRA. Thanks to all the racers, who came from all over the Northern Hemisphere, and the spectators, some of whom came from even further afield.
Here is a selection of photos kindly supplied by Tom of FT Photos. If you raced he will have a photo of you. He'll sell you a digital copy or an actual print. Contact him through his facebook - facebook.com/fooleryoftom - for his prices and when he will have the full selection online.
Yes, the street tracker/street scrambler class was hauling. In fact all classes had some very fast (and not so quick) guys. Charley Boorman #11, Christophe Gaime #9, Guy Sutherland #97.
Charley Boorman raced the Zaeta DT brought over from Italy for the event. Gorgeous (the bike, not Charley).Julien in Paris.
Icon Motosports' Lee Bowers served up a couple of incredible set of sets, flirting with Iron Bird's gyrocopter camera.
Street Tracker class is go.
If you ever wondered why we called it the Inappropriate Road Bike Class, wonder no more. the Africa Twin, furthest form the camera, won the 24-strong class.
Sideburn's Ben 'Poncho' Part was flying on his longer-forked-for-more-ground-clearance XS650. He came a great second in a crazed Chopper class final.
Gareth the Milk Chug champ.
Olivia the flag girl.
Ben kissing Davros the Trophy Queen.
Nope, no idea. It was a long day... G
