This Swiss shop has stocked Sideburn for years, but has never been introduced on the blog before, for some reason. This is what Markus from the shop says...

Top Secret Drum Corps

The Sideburn blog is updated at least once Every. Single. Day. And we enjoy going way off the reservation occasionally (eg. previous posts on glassblowing, synchornised swimming, parquet flooring and Serbian Turbo folk songs).

I saw this group, the Top Secret Drum Corps from Switzerland, on a British primetime Saturday night show I was watching with my kids and it mesmerised me (nearly as much as the tech drawing gif below).

This is a longer routine than was on TV. Make time in your day to watch it. If it doesn't impress you I don't know what will. G

HD Mechadoll by Crab Motors

This bike reminded me I have a real soft spot for Sportsters and Buells given an adventure bike make-over. This 1989 1200 Sportster was built by Crab Motors in Switzerland and photographed by Lorenz Richard. G

Brave

Danny Hard Nine takes his 101 Indian Scout around the Offene Rennbahn Oerlikon, a 100-year-old velodrome in Zurich where they held motorcycle board track races in the 1920s. Read all about it in Sideburn #13. BP

Looks interesting. They've kept the stock rear frame and suspension (sensible, but we went hardtail), made a seat unit and sidepanels, changed the yokes (to lose the Bullet Classic nacelle), stock forks, stock tank, but it's a good effort. Should be for €15,000, though. Blimey. G

Second Swiss Cub

Following on from his 'Bird Reynolds' Triumph Tiger Cub we featured in Sideburn #8, Danny Hard9 has now had another Cub. As intrigued as we were by the last story, we thought we better put our best dick on it, and so sent Special Agent Arnold on a chilly Euro road trip, to Bern in Switzerland, to get the inside story. It certainly was a journey of enlightenment - if well over budget. You'll just have to wait for SB#10 to read it. BP

Cub

There were countless classy bikes at Verona earlier this year - and plenty of gash ones. But Danny Hard 9's baby Triumph was a pleasant surprise. We pushed the bike through the heaving masses to the prison yard-like parking lot outside. Glaring neon blue sky, glaring sparkly blue metalflake, and a shiny bald head. 'Switzerland is not renowned for it's tolerance to motorsport [having banned every form of it after the Le Mans disaster of 1955] or off-road riding, or loud pipes... but every now and then an opportunities for real fun sneaks up... Yesterday there was one and we jumped on it!!

Flat Track of Nations

We've inadvertently upset a friend of Sideburn by not reporting that Switzerland, despite coming from a country where all forms of motorsport have been banned since the 1950s, are the current World Champions. The Swiss - led by J-W of the Dutch Brothers -beat off strong challenges from Holland and Italy in the recent World Cup of Flat Track. Britain's elite riders (Boast, Greig, Hall, Pocklington), financially crippled by the piss-weak pound/competing in their own series/racing in Europe and America already this year didn't enter a team. Otherwise, well, it goes without saying.
