Swedish Rat Tracker

From our old friend Marcus Moto Design in Sweden.

The photos included are the one from this summer's Norrtalje Custom Bike Show and a rusty Sportster tracker that I think is worth a sideblog.

Loved that photo of the Swedish Rat Tracker. Look at the air filter box and the tank emblem: Röda Ulven: it’s best-known brand of that Scandinavian speciality SURSTRÖMMING, rotten, canned fish. You have to open the tin outside, but the fish is actually delicious if you can stand the smell! I feel that the owner/builder of this bike has a certain sense of humour.

Swedish Flat Track

The Belladonna Trackers guys stopped romping in their underground Stockholm dungeon long enough to go out to one of Sweden's many speedway ovals for some dirt track fun. And Jan-Willem and Tom from the Dutch Brothers drove all the way from Switzerland (a loooong way) to give them lessons and tasters on their bikes.

Our friend Marcus, of Marcus Moto Design, went along and said this...

It was cool to see a real flattrack bike ride a track! Thanks to the Dutch Bros who brought 2 bikes, did some races together with speedway and motocross riders on 450 crossers. They let the riders try their bikes and everyone had a blast! My 4 year old boy was stoked! 
 I hope that this is the start for the sport in Sweden and we can see built-it-yourself bikes as the ones in the UK. 
 Hopefully we will have more of these official training sessions for flat track in Sweden this year. Belladonna will then have their bikes ready and hopefully a handful others!

DucRat

From our friend Marcus Moto in Sweden...

Here is my daily ride of 2012, DucRat. Scratched and leftover bits from the F1 Tracker build (see below) added to my basic yellow 748 I bought off a friend last year. It is a UK bike from the start. 

It could use a proper paint on the plastics and a proper carbon fibre repair instead of the patching up with leftover carbon bits of the workshop floor. But it is freedom to put something like this together once in a while! :-)

Daily Dirt

We've been following Marcus Moto Design's Sportster build for a while. He's made some really neat parts, and this is just his daily ride,r his Daily Dirt. Meanwhile he's been building a top secret Ducati street bike. We plan to do a proper feature on this bike in the future.

Here are the new photos! It runs good for being a Sportster that is! :-) Bad brakes, heavy weight and heavy steering but it looks cool and sounds great and I'm really happy with it!
I will ride it to Norrtälje this weekend.

Marcus Moto Sportster Update

Here are two work-in-progress shots of my Sportster Tracker. I will cut the rear of the steel tailpiece I'm still choosing between two cut lines. The Monza cap will be lowered through the tailpiece. Oil tank in the tailpiece to leave the frame open with just a small central placed battery. I will do a 2-1 system with the XR headers and a shorten Ducati slipon do give a tighter and slimmer look than the massive Supertrapp silencers. The engine and frame will get some attention when all the fabrication is done. Might need to lower the forks or raise the rear shocks. Front and rear light from a 50s Combine! 'I saw this awesome 450 tracker bike at Jesse Rooke's Vegas workshop last month. I just love it. Jesse wasn't there but his crew were so I took some photos. I want more people to see that cool bike as I'm not sure if it will remain in bare metal. It really hit me in the chest when I saw it. I rarely get that feeling anymore... It is a awesome bike. If he paints it he's making a mistake, that is a fact.'

Hi Gary,
Here is my new project, based on a silly lowrider attempt on a Sportster 883. It will a build inspired out of two sideblog bikes actually, that Japanese street tracker at the New Order Chopper show and that French dude´s blue Sportster tracker.
I got new cool pipes of a motorcycle dragracing legend (European record holder, build his complete own engines etc, Charley Karling). The tank is off to paint, Flakes of course! ;-).
Then I will get a 18 or a 19 inch rim to replace the original 16inch rear rim (Thanks for tracker clarification, Gary! :-). I will also do my own mid-controls from scratch, first design in 3D CAD and the milled out in aluminium. I send you some pics now and then the finished bike in springtime. I also do a evil Ducati 996 build. Waiting for Sideburn #3,
