Erv's Bike

Gary/Ben, in response to your latest sideblog post, haven't got a kwak triple for ya but have got another pic to help with the build! This is a period one from a paddock circa mid 70's showing Erv Kanemoto's work in all its glory.
Laters Tel, Norwich, England
Thanks Tel. Looks like Don Castro there (yes we can read).

Great Britain - World Champions*

From Marco Belli (via Babelfish)
"We arrived back yesterday from Muhldorf, in Germany, where we raced the 2008 Trophy of Nations. The 1000m track close to Munich is a Superfast sand oval, really well maintained by the local muhldorf Club, who is sustaining dirt track from years.
8 representatives of 8 european countries were there to fight for the first place, but as a prevision, it was Team England** who scored enough to be again the Winner Team. The race for the best rider was a different music as it came in my hand since I won all my heats and also the thrilling 12 laps 1000m track final; during which my Team fellows, Magnoni and Talamona, showed consistence and gained good results: this meant we, as Team Italy, finished as the best third Team of the day.
So the final classification is England, France, Italy and Holland.
Another good goal for dirt track, let’s hope for anybody else who is willing to organize the 2009 Trophy of Nations."

Redcar race coming soon

After the rain-off earlier this year the Redcar/Middlesbrough round of the UK Short Track season is on for this weekend. Compact banked little oval. That's me (Sideburn's GI) above. i'm not as fast as the fast guys. Please look at this shot and tell me why. Leave comments below.
If you want to attend see www.shorttrackuk.com for more details. It's a day race. Qualifying from 11.30, race programme from 2, I think.
I'm going to start psyching myself up now.
Hard from the start, hard from the start, hard from the start, hard from the start...

Ascot

I am attaching a couple of cool photos/scans They speak for themselves, but a fast Arizona rider is shown, Art Fredenburgh. He ran out of Shell Thuet's camp, don't know exactly how much support he got but I know he had all the good stuff like Wayne Rainey and Eddie Lawson.
Later, Craig Martin

Bussei reads Sideburn, loves dirt track

Giovanni Bussei is one of the greatest racers. I don't like the word cool too much, but Bussei is cool. Former World Superbike, AMA, BSB racer and World Endurance racer, Bussei doesn't suck on the corporate teat and worry about wearing the right sunglasses. He sleeps in his car in the paddock and showers with an ice cold hosepipe.
He got hold of a copy of Sideburn and rung us this Saturday to say he's desperate to race short track. As he is currently racing in the World Supermoto championship he might go well.
'I did one dirt track race,' he told us. 'I won it.'
We're going to introduce him to his fellow countryman Marco Belli and see what happens.
Look what we found!

Jay on the Blast.
Here's the story. 'In September of 2003, Jay Springsteen visited Japan for a demo ride at the purpose-built
'Field of Dreams' dirttrack event held in the mountains of Nagano.'
