Wow, I just saw that beautiful bob job on your blog and a remembered I owe you pictures of sideburn #4 in BA ( Buenos Aires). For now here is one of my Bonneville project. Is coming along very nice, the handlebars are vintage national speedway, rear shocks from a kawa z1000 and the seat was hand made by me. I also have an Avon Roadrunner tire in the front and a nice Dunlop on the back. Mufflers custom made. Hope you like it.
I'm glad to read that you like "futbol" (haha) im a fan of ATLANTA a third category football team , but very tough.and if any of you ever come back to Argentina I'd be glad to take you see a match at "popular" with the local hooligans.

Red Max at the Indoor bonanza

The Red Max Speed Shop will have a stall full of flat track and street tracker goodies at the Indoor race on December 27 at Braintree, Essex. He'll also have Sideburn merch. G

19" BMW snowflake wheel

Similar in style to Kimtabs, these seasonally styled BMW wheels (one on US eBay now) would look darned kool on a street tracker I reckon - Although you'd have to use two fronts as the back hub is set up for shaft drive, and consequently you'd have to a narrow rear tyre to match. Apparently there were some factory recalls in the 70s when they were first manufactured - anybody know any more about them? BP

Narduzzi and Indian Girl

This is my new, but very good friend Alberto Narduzzi. He's building his own Rotax framer, over in Italy, and a GM speedway bike. Dirt track seems to be getting a foothold in Italy again. For his dirt track debut Alberto wore his Indian Girl hooded sweat. We have a small number of these hooded sweats and long-sleeve T-shirts left. Once they're gone, they're gone. He is on Marco Belli's Kawasaki 450 DTX bike. Looking good first time out, with the steel shoe he bought at Alan Bellham's when he visited me a few months ago. I hope Marco and his mates can get enough interest to have a few rounds over there. GI

At Home With Jam Roll

On the way back from Rye House, I decided to to take an hour detour south into west London, to catch up with a few friends. I hadn't seen James Chappell in the flesh since 1805 (we go back a long way). I forgot his flat number and was ringing his neighbor's bell for 20 minutes. It was anti-sociably early for a Saturday morning but poking an air-rifle out through the letterbox was a bit excessive. But one good thing about turning up un-announced is you can have cold Lebanese take-away for breakfast (the veiny spheres I can only presume were lambs testicles), washed down with some cold Arabic coffee which having stood for 7 hours allowed the cardamom sludge to fall to the bottom. Responsible for scattered illustrations in Sideburn; a new piece on Dave Aldana for SB#5 lay still steaming on the kitchen table.One day I'd like to do a photography book about peoples mantelpieces, I'm forever intrigued by their personal dioramas. At last, some decent footage of Kenny on the TZ750 comeback. We were afraid that no one had got decent clips, but Yamaha have spliced together a half-decent short film for those of us who didn't make it in 1975 or 2009. See it over at our friends' site, Hell for Leather.

It all begs the question, if dirt track racing can create such strong memories, why aren't manufacturers throwing a few dollars at it now? It sounds like they're all dropping out of AMA Superbike racing. It wouldn't cost much to have a pro looking effort in the GNC. Triumph, Ducati, Aprilia, Suzuki... Independents are doing the hard work for you, why not give them the money you normally spend on the office plants and really help take the fight to the establishment?

And remember - we had the story on Kenny's 1975 race in his own words, and Ben Miller's interview with KR in Sideburn 2. We have some left, but they're going fast. Buy now and avoid being skinned when they inevitably come up on eBay after we've sold out. GI
